Kentucky coach, John Calipari should change his m.o. No longer should be considered a “big game” coach. That “big game” moniker must be changed to “telfon” because his checkered past hasn’t come back to bite him yet. Late yesterday, it was reported that the University of Memphis faced NCAA allegations of a phony SAT test during the 2007-08 season. The alleged taker of that test was #1 draft pick, Derrick Rose.
Memphis’s 38-2 record breaking season is in jeopardy. They may have to surrender their Conference USA title and school victories. Rose enjoyed a spectacular rookie year with the Chicago Bulls. He reached the postseason and nearly defeated the defending champion, Boston Celtics.
Calipari left Memphis for bluegrass pastures and a lucrative, multi-year deal with the Kentucky Wildcats. Two people got rich of a perhaps shady, college deal. But, Memphis may be the only one left holding the bag.
