Pat Robertson Bashes President Obama for

Pat Robertson, a former Republican Presidential candidate, has always been an ultra-Conservative. He supported the late Ronald Reagan and bashed Jimmy Carter. He supported George Bush Sr and bashed Bill Clinton. For the most part, he supported George W. Bush. But today, he went after President Barack Obama in enraged tirade on PBS’s political show, “The McLaughlin Group”.

Robertson accused him of being “a guilty, apologizing liberal” after Obama said that America overthrew a democratic, Iranian goverment in 1946.

Iran was one of several, hostile Middle East countries that Obama wanted a “cooling” of tensions. He made it clear on January 20th (Inauguaration Day) that America needed allies. He also made it known that the U.S. had to better its overall standing with the rest of the world.

In a twist, Obama’s Middle East policy angered a nation who supported the previous, Republican governments. Israel disapproved of America’s change in its dealings with her enemies such as Iran, Syria and Jordan. Israeli citizens chastised Obama’s attempt of making “friends” with supporters of Islamic extremism.

Obama said in his May 21st speech that America asked with “arrogance” and was “dimissive” in the past. He also said that the previous leaders made “mistakes”; especially during the Cold War period.

His stance was probably motivated by Iran’s intentions with its nuclear program. He and many world leaders expressed concerns that the Middle East power may develop weapon-grade plutonium and launch nuclear missiles for “offensive” warfare.

Robertson disapproved of Obama’s election from the beginning. He called him “a gifted speaker” so much that it almost sounded as a backhanded insult. He and other Conservative politicians accused Obama of being “anti-American” for revealing the government’s actions in foreign countries during and after the Cold War.

Robertson said repeatedly in his diatribe, “America won the Cold War! We kicked the Russians out of Iran! We overthrew the government in Guatemala to keep them (Russians) out!”

One supporter on the McLaughlin Group said that Obama only expressed what internationals felt about the American government. She supported him in his attempt to rebuild relations with Islamic nations.

Bush didn’t care what Muslims thought of him. That arrogance probably led to his operation to invade Iraq with no Arab political support. We paid for that arrogance in 5,000 American soldiers dead and tens of thousands more injured or maimed.

Were not the bush's works anti American? He spoiled the American relations with all the Muslim countries. Was it in favour of America? In fact Obama is trying to rectify the mistakes done by Bush.

It is a harsh reality that US was engaged in toppling down of democratically elected governments and Obama is accepting it. Is it a sin to accept the reality?

The likes of Pat Robertson want to live in the past. It is hard not to notice that it is always the religious right screaming for the spilling of human blood. They had their turn and it didn’t make the world a safer place.

Obama is a student of history. He recognizes that America’s image is in dire need of a makeover.

We need to have nations respect us again and not just for our military might. We have character issues that must be addressed.

Unfortunately, elitists and war hawks know nothing about having good morals and character.

Speeches are not meant to have any other meaning than to fool the weak minds of the masses and from what i see in humans it is easy to do
