Late yesterday, Canadian authorities provided the climax to a bizarre and tragic real-life drama.

Ryan Jenkins, the reality show contestant suspected of butchering his wife, was found dead in his skidrow motel room.

The real estate investor fled Los Angeles after police discovered Jasmine Fiore’s body in Buena Park (20 miles south). The former model/actress had been strangled. Her teeth were removed and fingers cut off to prevent immediate identification. Fiore was later identified by using the serial numbers to her breast implants.

Jenkins avoided a nationwide dragnet and made his way across the border. He and an attractive blonde, in her early 20s, checked in at the Thunderbird Motel in Hope. The motel was a spot where drug addicts did their products and prostitutes frequented. A manager at the motel described seeing Jenkins as “spent”.

A maid found him hanging in the room’s closet. But, his female companion disappeared. Police began searching for the woman who accompanied him. However, Jenkin’s suicide all but closed the Fiore case.
