This morning, a man calmly walked into a day care center and stabbed to death three people and injured 10 others.

The unprovoked attack sent the entire facility into chaos. The assailant slashed at anyone within his vicinity. Two children were among the dead and several of the wounded. Apparently, there were 30 people inside during the melee. After wards, the attacker left on his bicycle, but was apprehended by police at a nearby mall.

It was believed the suspect sustained injuries during a brief his arrest. He had a history of mental illness and was known to law enforcement in this town 20 miles south of Brussels (capital).

Christian Du Four, a local prosecutor, described a “chaotic” scene with distraught parents chauffeuring injured children to awaiting ambulances. Other parents were forced to go to the local hospital and wait for their kids to arrive.

State authorities dispatched grief counselors and psychologists to provide emotional “healing” for the victims’ families.
